My fertility journey to wholeness and healthy reproductive functioning was not easy at all.
I cried many sleepless nights.
I stressed beyond words can create, and I almost gave up hope.
I was miserable.
I decided to grab life by its reigns and change my lifestyle. To start, I incorporated healthier options such as fruits, nuts and eventually found my inner peace. I conclude that this helped boost my fertility journey faster than when I didn’t consume these things. Overall, I had done so much to promote a boost in my reproduction system from yoga, to mindfulness body cleansing, to becoming an obsessed gym rat. Sadly, none of those things did not work for me.
To fully understand more on my fertility journey, I’ll be sharing my story in another blog posting. I am so grateful to have made it through those nights of various outbursts and cries because I had this mind frame that I was without child. One thing that I have learned throughout my journey was that there is a special destined time for everything. Learn to trust the process and don’t rush it. Don’t rush God. As hard as it was, I truly had to learn to put my trust in him and allow my body to be mentally and physically cleansed.
I have included a detailed list of veggies, superfoods foods, nuts and berries that I consumed in order to help my reproductive system do its job consistently. So, instead of meats and foods that are high in cholesterol, I began to replace them with grains, berries, yogurt and nuts. I did not quit all meats and dairy, but I cut down on them quite a bit. Overall, having meat for every dinner would be replaced with fresh fruits and leafy green veggies.
FRUITS
Fertility cleanses are so important when TTC. Fresh fruits such as blueberries, strawberries and blackberries are very rich in antioxidants, high in folate and magnesium. A study founded that there was a natural compound in blueberries that can boost pregnancy rates while doing infertility treatments like IVF. Strawberries are so delicious and sweet. They are high in Vitamin C and and high in Vitamin E. It has been proven in several studies that strawberries obtain more Vitamin C than an orange. In sum, strawberries are great for the skin and cleansing the body which better enhance reproductive functioning.
NUTS AND DATES
There are so many nuts that are extremely powerful to boost a positive reproduction cycle. Nuts such as walnuts, almonds and brazil nuts are loaded with protein, fiber, fats and even magnesium. These particular nuts can also help reduce risk of heart and disease, high blood pressure. They are also a good toppers for yogurt cups and mix well with fresh fruits for a morning or afternoon snack. Make a yummy Almond butter oatmeal bar
DARK GREENS
Start off small and simple. Spinach, kale, broccoli and cabbage are all so yummy and full of vitamins. Vitamin E, Vitamin C, magnesium, and aide in a healthy and strong immune system. It’s been proven that dark leafy greens are helpful in regards to a healthier reproductive system and cell growth.
Tip: Make a delicious superfood salad, add as many green leafy veggies that you want and throw your favorite fresh fruits and grains to top it off. Add your avocado and yogurt on the side and there you have a it!
SMOOTHIES
Smoothies are a great alternative to sneak in your daily proteins and vitamins. They hold so much beneficial antioxidants, proteins and can aide in a healthier hormonal balance. If you’re trying to optimize your fertility, I say recommend starting with smoothies. Incorporate all of your favorite fruits and veggies, honey and a yogurt or dairy free base. A study on Fertility factors indicated that vegetables and fruits form the basis of healthy nutrition models that improve the quality and fertility of semen.
PEACE
My three tips to embracing peace while trying to conceive are… MEDITATION, PRAYER AND LETTING GO
The Holy Bible says to “meditate on the word day and night”. It also states that we should keep our minds set on him and he will keep us in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3-4). I could go on and on, but those are a few scriptures that helped me stay afloat and get through the mental battles of infertility. Lastly, letting go was by far the hardest one of them all. I would say that letting go was the one tip that I struggled most with.
God loves you immensely!! It is destined to allow God take over your life, your thoughts and even your atmosphere. If you are used to getting upset when you hear that someone receives great news about pregnancy, don’t be so quick to be upset or feel angry. Instead, let go and tell God, My Time Is Coming.
He said in his beautiful word to speak those things that be not as though they were. Lay hands over your ovaries and declare the word of God everyday. In closing, in order to let go and change your mind frame, God has to fully takeover and do what was purposed in your life. Kindly and prayerfully let go and let him.
